She A Dawg EP - Austin2Glocks

Steven Luster

Austin2Glocks has not taken a season off, packaging together one of the most exciting runs in Chicago. Glocks dropped his latest 5 song project, She A Dawg Ep, as a treat for his fans on Valentine’s Day.

Austin2Glocks begins with nostalgic lyrics, “This is what dreams are made of, Lizzie McGuire” A genuine example of the colorful lyrics to come. Glocks has music you just should not question. Just get in tune and thank me later. “My girl looked like Hillary when I found her” Glocks music is filled with figurative language, usually comes with fire concepts and that is what has and gravitated me to his music.

Executively engineered by DopeDope, this ep is another crisp gem that no one should be sleeping on. Both the first two tracks are slower tempo. The second track specifically, has this guitar chord that will have you feeling like you are at dinner with Don Pablo. Tempo picks up by the third track, Alphabet biddies, and it is a unique spin on Lil Wayne’s alphabet bitches. Definitely some a nice track for the guys and gals to have a good time dancing.

The track “Prime” is probably my favorite, so I feel it’s perfectly placed in the track list. Austin2glocks and LB Papa go back to back on this insane beat like Jay and Ye on the Watch the Throne album. This track is chaotic in all the best ways finishing each others lines, going back to back, switching flows effortlessly. This is a well oiled machine, everyone that is participating is doing their jobs well.

“She A Dawg” ep is an example of black excellence in black history month. Just like back in the original days of hip hop, the Dj, the producers, the engineers were all celebrated just as much as the artist. Phenomenal engineering from DopeDope. I feel that is what makes it so easy to get these rhymes to transcend and relate to the listeners.
